Spanish cow escapes from slaughterhouse, runs amok
Filed Under EN
The cow uprising began in Spain, though it ended almost as quickly since cows just aren’t that bright. UPI reports on Nov 10 that the cow escaped a slaughterhouse in La Coruna, Galicia, which is in the northwest of Spain. It proceeded to run amok in the town before ending its rampage.
The cow managed to damage several vehicles on its rampage, presumable shouting “viva la revolucion!” in cattlese. That’s what cows speak, right? Or is it different in Spain? Vaca-ish, maybe? Regardless, it appears that the bovine fugitive was following in the footsteps (Spanish website) of another heroic future steak that escaped a few years ago from the same facility, though that one actually managed to injure four people before being subdued.
The latest escaped cow only managed to do some property damage, to which the mayor, who saw the critter personally, said they should contact police. It also appears that the slaughterhouse will be held liable for failing to prevent the animal from escaping, as it managed to do so without the benefit of thumbs or intelligence.
About ten or so vehicles were damaged in the escape attempt, before ol’ Bessie (all cows are named Bessie, even the males) was subdued. Well, not so much subdued as going down in a blaze of glory as she leapt to her death from an overpass. Well, not so much leapt as fell off because it was a cow and they lack long term planning skills.
The calf was hauled away and died a martyr to the others who long for freedom before joining the dinner plates of those who enjoy steaks and hamburgers.
