Romano Fenati (ITA—SKY Racing Team VR46) claimed his fifth career Grand Prix victory and tenth career podium at Aragon, leading Alex Marquez (SPA—Estrella Galicia 0,0) and Danny Kent (GBR—Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo) to the line.

Going into the Aragon event, Fenati was in fifth place in the World Championship points and the victory lifted him into fourth place with 165 points.

Alex Marquez finished only 0.057 of a second behind Fenati and the second place finish moved him past Australian Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Ajo) in the points standings to the top spot with 206 points.

Miller, who qualified fourth finished 27th out of the points falls to second place at 195 points.

Kent finished 0.283 of a second behind Fenati and improved his points total for the season to 93, which moves him into 9th place overall.

Estrella Galicia 0,0’s Alex Rins finished fourth, 11.631 seconds behind Fenati, but that position kept him in the points race with 188, only seven points behind Miller and 18 points out of first place.

Rins stays hot coming off victories at Silverstone and Misano.

Czech Jakub Kornfeil (Calvo Team) came in fifth just over 18 seconds behind, scoring 11 points and increasing his season total to 78, good enough for 12th place in the standings.

The series continues with the Motul Grand Prix of Japan at Motegi Circuit on October 12; the race is the first of three-consecutive weekends of races, and all are in different countries.
