A man was stabbed on the leg in an altercation between construction workers from Daet who were working on a government project in San Miguel town last week.

The San Miguel police stated that in the afternoon of June 16 in barangay District 3, Eduardo delos Santos, 54, and Garlo Galicia, 38, both residents of Dogongan, Daet, Camarines Norte, were having a drinking spree with fellow workers inside their barracks when a heated argument erupted between delos Santos and Galicia.

The duo were pacified but later, Galicia took a kitchen knife and suddenly stabbed delos Santos on the right leg. The suspect was arrested by responding policemen led by SPO1 Raymund Vidal, who recovered the nine-inch knife used in the stabbing.

The workers from Daet are reportedly working on a municipal project won by a contractor from the capital town of Camarines Norte where Mayor Edna Bernal resided before coming over to San Miguel to win successive terms as local chief executive.
