ARDMORE, OK — Two Ardmore police officers, who took down a murder suspect in a shootout in January, are being honored by the city they serve Monday night.

Captain Eric Hamblin and officer Juan Galicia will be presented certificates of recognition by Mayor Sheryl Ellis Monday evening.

On January 16th, the two officers were involved in a chase with Henry Jackson, wanted for four shootings, when he opened fire on them. They shot back killing him.

District Attorney Craig Ladd said the officers’ use of deadly force was lawful and just.

Hamblin and Galicia have already been honored by state lawmakers.
