The incident happened around 6:30 a.m. Galicia was riding his bicycle from west to east, attempting to cross the ramp from State Road 7 to westbound I-595.

A car southbound on State Road 7 had slowed or stopped to let the bicyclist pass, Wysocky said, when a Ford Explorer driven by Vincent Sica, 61, of Fort Lauderdale drove around the waiting car.

The bicycle struck the right front of Sica’s truck, an impact that caused $1,500 in damage, according to an FHP report.

Sica was not injured and the crash remains under investigation, Wysocky said.
