領土收縮令俄失去屏障
對俄羅斯人來說，近五百年都是領土豐收的日子，不斷擴張，勢力不斷擴大。但這個僅存的帝國卻在九十年代初隨蘇聯覆亡而首次大幅收縮，中亞草原多國從哈薩克到塔吉克都獨立了，東歐集團脫離俄國控制，並一一加入北約及歐盟。連早在十七世紀已成為俄羅斯腹地的烏克蘭也獨立了，並跟西方眉來眼去。要知道當年納粹德國正是從烏克蘭直殺到莫斯科，重創蘇聯紅軍。失掉烏克蘭這個糧倉及腹地，怎不令「新沙皇」及俄羅斯寢食難安呢？假如歷史可以重來，當年列寧建立蘇聯時不搞甚麼民族自治及加盟共和國，不講甚麼手足兄弟邦，全部把它們變成蘇聯一個行省或州，九一年蘇共下台時也不過政權轉換，不會導致帝國瓦解，而普京現時掌管的將是大得多的帝國，不受西方直接威脅。撫今追昔，普京自然不能不怨老祖宗列寧棋差一着。也許，西方國家特別是美國，該反過來給列寧一些正面的評價。盧峯資深傳媒人
