3 hurt in Abra collision

PIDIGAN, Abra – Three people, including a 14-year old boy, were hurt after a Bangued-bound sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided head on with their motorcycled at sitio Galicia, barangay Monggoc here Saturday morning.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the vehicular accident victims as Eduardo Dumaslan Tumbaga, 37, married, farmer and a resident of barangay Tangbao, San Isidro, Abra and his two back riders namely, Rolando Tayoan, 32, single, farmer and Edward Tumbaga, 14, both residents of the aforesaid place.
Initial police investigation showed the SUV which was driven by Fr. Conradus Haribaik, 45, Indonesian national and a member of the Society of Divine Word in San Quintin, Abra was bound for the capital town of Bangued when it tried to overtake a vehicle in front but did not allegedly see the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction that caused the collision.
Because of the impact of the collision, the occupants of the motorcycle were thrown off their vehicle causing them to bang their bodies on the concrete pavement.
The victims were immediately rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medication while the vehicles that incurred still undetermined damages were brought to the Pidigan Municipal Station for further investigation.
