【本報訊】政府將在今年春天清拆堅尼地城加多近街臨時花園（又稱臨時公園），進行耗資約11億元的除污工程。有團體研究公園內、公園附近地皮的泥土污染物分佈情況，發現公園深層泥土埋有致癌物苯比啶；若貿然進行除污，或影響居民健康，亦憂慮變成另一個社區大白象工程。有學者指，若土地受苯比啶污染，並不適宜人類活動。發展局最近以堅尼地城舊焚化爐土地埋藏化學物質、公園的土地受污染為由，向立法會財委會申請撥款，展開為期7年的清拆工程，日後興建臨海私人住宅。守護堅城關注組夥同城西關注組，就土木工程署早前發表的除污報告，結合歷史資料，分析鉛和苯比啶兩種污染物的分佈情況，揭示污染物的起源。

「咁嘅時勢唔敢加價」
