應用外語學生桃園機場實習

Jessie Huang, who, with her film-star face, bears a remarkable resemblance to entertainer Alice Ko, and fellow students from Taipei Chengshih University of Science and Technology’s Department of Applied Foreign Languages have been doing internships at Taoyuan Airport for half a year under an industry-academy cooperation program. When faced with inquiries from foreigners, Huang can now answer in fluent English and no longer gets tongue-tied, and it only takes her a moment to solve the kinds of crisis that can suddenly come up for travelers. Huang is now certain that after graduating she will take the test to become a flight attendant and pursue her dream career.
Kuan Mei-yen, chairperson of the Department of Applied Foreign Languages, says that the university has an industry-academy cooperation program with third-party companies that work with the Taoyuan International Airport. The program requires students to assist the airport’s meet-and-greet services, guide travelers, maintain order and so on. The interns receive a monthly stipend of more than NT$30,000. The key to this work is the participants’ language ability, and they also need to have a proactive attitude. Under current arrangements, the students’ internships last for one academic year.

有著神似藝人柯佳嬿的明星臉，台北城市科大應用外語系大四學生黃宇彤和其他同學在桃園機場產學合作實習半年，面對外國人詢問時，英語對答如流不再吃螺絲，處理旅客突如其來的危機亦能瞬間化解，黃宇彤已確定畢業後投考空姐勇敢追夢。
應用外語系主任管美燕表示，該校與桃園國際機場的協力廠商進行產學合作，讓學生協助機場迎賓導覽服務、導引、秩序維護等，一個月實習津貼三萬以上，工作的核心關鍵是語言能力，且要具備積極主動的態度，目前規劃學生實習時間為一學年。
