The family of the woman killed in Tuesday’s plane crash has hired a law firm.
Domingo Galicia says he needs help after losing his daughter Banny and seeing his home destroyed.
Two mobile homes were destroyed in suburban Lake Worth after the plane piloted by Dan Shalloway crashed and erupted in flames.
Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Bureau continue to look for clues to find out why the plane crashed.
They expected to get copies of the Cherokee Piper 180’s maintenance records Thursday afternoon.
Wednesday, they removed the plane’s engine from the crash site.
Domingo says he needs the lawyer’s help to work through the maze of paperwork and insurance.
“There’s a whole human aspect to this tragedy we’re helping them cope with and we’re trying to provide them with the guidance they need at this stage,” explains attorney Daniel Lustig.
He says his firm hasn’t ruled out a wrongful death lawsuit against he pilot or the plane’s manufacturer.
“These ones are my lawyers, they’re going to be working on my case, God knows what’s going to happen from now on,” Domingo said through a translator.
Right now, Domingo and his family are leaning on the community for support.
The Red Cross says it is assisting a total of ten adults, from two houses.
People living in one house says their families and church are giving them clothes and places to sleep.
“The pastor gave me the clothes I have on, the shirt and the pants, and also let me stay there and take a shower,” Lusbin Galicia said through a translator.
Lusbin lost everything. He was living with his brother, Domingo, in the house where the plane crashed.
“I was inside, in my room, and I felt like some kind of flame was burning me on the inside, and I went outside to get fresh air,” he says.
He thinks it was a premonition warning him about the crash five minutes before it happened.
“God was sending me a message that I have to get out, I felt that flame inside of me that I was burning,” he adds.
The family of the pilot, Dan Shalloway, did not make any comments Thursday.
