Personal regimen will be available for each patient: The era of personalized medicine begins in Belarus.

Today a center of positron emission tomography was opened in Borovlyany. The ceremony was attended by President Alexander Lukashenko. Modern equipment of the complex allows for early diagnosis of cancer, neurological and cardiac diseases. Each patient is assigned an individual treatment regimen. Thus, our country is among the first to enter into the age of personalized medicine. Alexander Lukashenko got familiarized with the equipment of the center, visited its laboratories.

About 700 billion rubles was spent on the construction of the PET center and the construction of the laboratory of carcinogenesis.

Today Belarusian President met with members of the republican scientific-practical conference “New technologies in medicine.” The Head of State praised the latest methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases introduced by the Centre of Oncology. Alexander Lukashenko discussed with the elite of national science and medicine the issues concerning the construction of housing for young physicians, the solution of the demographic problem, as well as ways of improving the health care system.

Alexander Lukashenko instructed to study the possibility of creating a Belarusian center for cellular technologies.
