Jorge Navarro Joined By Sena Yamada As Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Take On Aragon Grand Prix

Jorge Navarro, having further recovered from injury, will participate in the Moto3 round at Alcañiz. Estrella Galicia 0,0 Junior Team rider, competing in the FIM CEV Sena Yamada, will replace Fabio Quartararo.

With Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider Fabio Quartararo recovering from injury to his right foot, caused by a crash during the second free practice of the San Marino GP, the team will run a stand-in for the Aragon Grand Prix. Japanese rider Sena Yamada will be participating on the Frenchman’s Honda.

After the difficult San Marino Grand Prix, Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 head to their designated test track, where a few weeks ago they undertook a successful private test. MotorLand Aragon is also a track well known by Jorge Navarro and Sena Yamada, as besides being part of the World Championship calendar it is also a venue in the FIM CEV Spanish championship (in which Navarro is the reigning runner-up and Yamada a current competitor).

Last year, Aragon saw a second place finish for Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 rider Alex Marquez, providing the seventh podium of the ten he managed all season. Teammate Alex Rins took pole with a time of 1:58.318.

This year, Navarro and Yamada will be the men fighting to get the best results possible right from the first practice session, which will be held on Friday at 9am.

MotorLand Aragon

Did you know…?

As is the case in the region of Sachsenring (Germany) or in Brno (Czech Republic), at MotorLand Aragón there is a long tradition of racing on street circuits. The Alcañiz street circuit held car races from 1963 to 2003. Later, for safety reasons, it was decided to build the circuit we know today, inaugurated in 2010.

The Aragonese track, designed by German Hermann Tilke, is 5.07km long, has 7 right hand corners and 10 left hand corners. It is a fast circuit that has several changes in elevation, most notably the ‘inverted corkscrew’ of Turns 7 and 8, which many compare with the American track at Laguna Seca.
