When one demonstrator tried to retrieve a sign from behind what appears to be the head of Trump’s security, the guard swung back, hitting protester Efrain Galicia in the head.

A group of Latino activists went to the site on Fifth Aveneue to protest offensive comments made by Trump against Mexicans, and the candidate’s security detail assaulted at least three people, according to the filing.

“They were expressing their opinions on issues of concern, mainly on remarks that Mr. Trump has made concerning immigrants in the United States and his policies that effect the immigrant community”, Dictor stated. Shortly before the demonstration on September 3, Galicia said he learned that ex-Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke – like many white nationalist leaders – endorsed Trump’s nativist platform on immigration.

Last month, Keith Schiller, Trump’s director of security and longtime bodyguard, confiscated a protester’s sign, which read “Make America Racist Again”. “And course for the compensation of the damages”, Galicia said. An unidentified guard then “placed his hands around Galicia’s neck in an effort to choke him”, the complaint says.

The Trump campaign tells a different story – saying protesters jumped the guard from behind… and it’s considering filing criminal charges for the incident.

The lawsuit alleges that Trump’s security, specifically Schiller, struck assaulted them while they were lawfully protesting Trump’s appearance at his flagstaff tower in Manhattan.
