Moto3. (Preview) Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Ready for GP of San Marino and Riviera De Rimini
Fabio Quartararo and Jorge Navarro arrive at thirteenth round of the season in eighth and tenth, respectively, in the overall standings.
Misano will host the thirteenth round of the Moto3 World Championship this weekend, with Fabio Quartararo facing the challenge of riding at another new circuit for him. Teammate Jorge Navarro already has prior experience of the track from last season.
At the most recent round, the British GP, Fabio Quartararo earned a creditable fourth place in a tricky wet race. Jorge Navarro claimed his first Grand Prix pole position at Silverstone, but crashed on the opening lap of the race. Both come into this weekend’s round having taken a step forward in a test at MotorLand Aragon on Thursday and Friday of last week.
Besides the experience of the riders gained at each round to date this season, plus the boost of the test findings, Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 also have a talented crew at their disposal -who helped Álex Rins and Álex Márquez to a one-two finish at Misano last season.
Riders and crew will start work on Friday in the first free practice sessions for the GP of San Marino and the Riviera de Rímini, from 9am local time.
Did you know…?
At 4.2 km in length, with 6 left hand corners and 10 right handers, the Misano Adriático track has hosted Grands Prix events since the 1980s. In 2007 it underwent a remodelling and races began to be run in a clockwise direction.
Just a few kilometres away from the Riviera de Rimini, the track is close to the home of Valentino Rossi and attracts many fans. ‘La Brutapela’ is the section of the stands decked out in yellow, and the ‘Desmodrómica’ red -as it accommodates Ducati fans.
Tavullia, the town where Rossi lived from a young age, is located 13km from the circuit. It receives the pilgrimage of thousands of fans on their trip to Misano.

“We come to Misano with a boost in confidence”
“After the test we did last week at MotorLand Aragon, we come to Misano with a boost in confidence. We did a great job and were able to test out different setups, with which I felt very comfortable on the bike. It was a very positive test, which really motivates us for Misano. It is a track where I really like the opening three corners, because of the way you have to ride to take them well. Misano is a circuit that I like a lot in general. I haven’t ridden there yet, but just from watching races there I know that we can have lots of fun.”
10º in the overall standings with 72 points
“We go there in very good form -even more so having tested at MotorLand Aragon”
Last year I rode at Misano and I liked it a lot. I also think that we go there in very good form -even more so having tested at MotorLand Aragon last week. At Silverstone we worked very well throughout the weekend, although in the race we didn’t get the reward for that. However, that motivates us even more for this weekend and we have a positive mentality. Our aim will be to continue building, as we have done since the start of the season. What I like most about Misano is the hard braking and the combination of slow and fast sections. Above all, I like the really fast final section.”
