The incident happened in Spain's north-western region of Galicia

Six people, including two pregnant women, were killed in Spain Saturday after an out-of-control auto slammed into spectators during a rally race.

A auto veered off course and plowed into the crowd at a rally in northwest Spain, killing six people.

And another pregnant woman and an eight-year-old child also reportedly died in the tragedy. Reuters and the Mirror reported at least 10 people were injured, including three children, while the Mail said there were 16 injured. More than 130 cars were participating in the race.

A Guardia Civil (Spanish police) spokesman told national media The Olive Press that the driver had been going too fast.

Police were investigating the causes of the accident Sunday, the spokeswoman said.

It is believed the driver was Sergio Tabeayo Sande and his co-pilot was Luis Miguel Prego.

“The La Coruna Rally is in mourning”, he said.

The horror incident happened just before in Carral near the city of La Coruna in Galicia.
