Moto3. Navarro, Second Fastest Spanish Rider In Brno Free Practice, Whilst Quartararo Concludes The Day 19th
First day for the Estrella Galicia 0.0 riders at Brno, where Jorge Navarro was sixth on the combined free practice timesheet and Fabio Quartararo worked hard to adapt to a new circuit for him.
The visit to the classic Brno track, characterized by heavy braking, chicanes and elevation changes, saw the Team Estrella Galicia 0.0 crew working hard from the first practice in the morning to find the best set-ups for their two young riders.
Despite the technical difficulty of this layout, Jorge Navarro was very comfortable from the off and moved up to fourth, seven minutes from the end of the first practice session. The Valencian concluded the session in the top ten, signing off in ninth. Across the box, Fabio Quartararo put in his first kilometers at this new circuit for him and gradually moved up to 14th position.
In the second session of the day, with a higher track temperature, Jorge Navarro confirmed his good feeling at the Czech track, climbing to fifth place in the last two minutes, improving on his fastest lap of the morning. Meanwhile, his teammate, Fabio Quartararo, emerged more confidently in the second session and reached fifth place with 10 minutes to go. Ultimately though the high asphalt temperature of 41Cº hampered his good feeling and he concluded the session in 17th.

“Today I struggled a bit to have a good feeling because Brno is a complicated circuit and I do not know it well”
“The practice was difficult today. I struggled a bit to have a good feeling because Brno is a complicated circuit and I do not know it well. In the first session I noticed that the bike slid a bit on acceleration, while in the second run, the track temperature was higher. In the end the conditions are equal for all the riders, so we will keep working for a good set-up for the race, which certainly will be tough if we still have these high temperatures.”

“Today we did a good job, we have been fast and consistent”
“Today we did a good job. From the morning we went pretty fast and we have been very consistent. However, in the afternoon we lacked a bit of power when we put the new tyre on and also I couldn’t keep my pace because I started to find traffic on track. Still, we are clear on what aspects need to be improved and that the goal tomorrow is to remain consistent on race tyres, which ultimately is what matters. Also we will try to take a small step forward in terms of the lap time and pace to be ready for the race.”
