July 5 crash on US 151 sends three to hospital

A 33-year-old Oshkosh woman, a 3-year-old child and a 30-year-old Middleton man were sent to area hospitals following a crash on U.S. 151 in Dodge County on Sunday, July 5.
Dodge County sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash around 3:54 p.m., Sunday, on U.S. 151 near Salem Road in Calamus. Preliminary investigation shows Amy Galica, 33, of Oshkosh, was driving a Ford northbound on U.S. 151. The Ford went into a counter-clockwise spin, sliding through the median and into southbound lanes. Timothy Mcessey, 30, of Middleton, was driving in the left traffic lane heading southbound on U.S. 151. The vehicles collided in the southbound traffic lanes, causing the Ford to split apart and ejecting 3-year-old Shanleece Galica. The child was in a car seat.
Mcessey was transported to Columbus Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Amy Galica was transported by Flight for Life to UW Madison Hospital with severe injuries. Shanleece Galica was transported by the Beaver Dam Paramedics to Children’s Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
As of Monday morning, Mcessey and Shanleece Galica were not patients in Columbus Hospital and Children’s Hospital in Madison, respectively. The UW Madison Hospital had no information about Amy Galica.
The Beaver Dam Police, Wisconsin State Patrol, Beaver Dam Fire Department, Beaver Dam Emergency Medical Services, Lifestar Ambulance, Flight for Life helicopter and the Dodge County Emergency Response Team assisted at the scene.
U.S. 151 southbound was closed for three hours Sunday evening, and the crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Investigation Team.
