WASHINGTON – U.S. actor Charlie Sheen was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday, after he ate bad clams, Sheen’s publicist Jeff Ballard said.

He was at the hospital for around an hour and a half and is reportedly still recuperating from the intoxication.

“It was clams, bad clams. Nothing too exciting,” Ballad said.

Sheen, one of the highest-paid actors on U.S. television, has often been in the news for scandals related to alcohol, drugs and romantic liaisons.

Born as Carlos Irwin Estevez, he is the younger child of actor Martin Sheen, the son of an immigrant from Galicia (Spain).

However, Sheen denies any attachment to his Latino roots as he was born in New York and grew up in Malibu (California).

Known for movies like ‘Platoon’ and ‘The Wraith’, Sheen has to his credit some immensely popular comedy television series including ‘Two and a Half Men’ and ‘Anger Management’.
