Cuban-Spanish Film "Meñique" Premieres in Galicia

07 de mayo de 2015, 11:49Madrid, May 7 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban-Spanish 3D animated film “Meñique” was screened in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, prior to its screening as of tomorrow in more than 60 movies in this country, the Cuban consulate in that city reported today.
The film is a free version of “Pulgarcito” (Tom Thumb) by French Edouard de Labouyale, adapted by Cuban National Hero Jose Marti for the children magazine The Golden Age that was spread in the last century, with music by Silvio Rodriguez.
The Galician company Fiction Productions and the Cuban Film Institute’s Animation Studios, with support of the Galician Television (TVG), Spanish Television and the Agadic and Ibermedia companies, participated in the production of the film.
Directed musically by Manu Riveiro, the film includes songs sung, for the Spanish and English version, by artists Roko and Xuso Jones, as well as Uxia Senlle and Xoan Curiel for the Galician film entitled “Maimiño.”
The exhibition had the presence of director TVG Manager director Rosa Vilas, Agadic director Jacobo Sutil, and cultural adviser at the city’s Council, Maria Anton.
Fiction executive producer Julio Casal, Meñique’s co-director Bruno Lopez, actress Maria Castro, who doubled the character of the princess, and Cuban Consul Maria Laura Urra, also attended the premiere at the Main Theater in Santiago de Compostela.
