Moto2: Rabat aims to start on winning note
Filed Under EN
Reigning Moto2 World Champion Tito Rabat will aim to kick-start the defence of his crown with a victory in Qatar this weekend.
Team Estrella Galicia Marc VDS rider Rabat, who becomes the first rider to defend the Moto2 title, was more than satisfied with his progress during pre-season testing and after completing plenty of laps in wet conditions, feels he is better equipped than ever for the challenge ahead.
“I’m pretty happy with our pre-season testing, mainly because of the rain. We were able to test extensively in the wet, which I’ve never had the opportunity to do before and we learnt a lot,” he said.
“We know that in the dry we have the pace to fight for the win, and I think the same is also true when it’s wet now. And that’s the approach for this season, to go to every race and to try and fight for the win, starting this weekend in Qatar.”
The opening round of the championship takes place under the floodlights at the desert venue of the Losail International Circuit, where practice gets under way on Thursday.
