Reigning World Champion Tito Rabat broke the Valencia circuit Moto2 record on the second day of testing today on his way to top spot on the timesheets.
The Spanish Estrella Galicia Marc VDS (and breathe) rider put in a 1’34.844 – a tenth quicker chassis, which differs significantly from the 2014 version. Team-mate and reigning Moto3 champion Alex Marquez is adjusting to the step in class and ended in 14th place, a second behind Rabat.
“We’ve had two really productive days here at Valencia and my feeling with the 2015 Kalex is really good. We have tested a lot of things again today, but I’ve also had to adapt slightly my riding style to get more from the bike, and that’s worked well here too,” said Rabat.
“My pace was good, my rhythm was good and my lap time was good, so I’m happy. Now we head to Almeria, where we will continue working to find further imrpovements.”
