Moto2™ World Champion Tito Rabat (Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS) was the top man on Monday in the intermediate class test at Valencia.

The Spaniard produced a best time of 1’35.287 to top the timesheet ahead of German rider Jonas Folger (AGR Team) and Japanese rider Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Honda Team Asia).

Taking advantage of the good conditions at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia Rabat continued his 2015 preseason work as he seeks to become the first rider to retain the title in the class since its restructuring as Moto2.

Behind Rabat, Folger and Nakagami, Spaniard Luis Salom (Paginas Amarillas HP 40) and Finn Mika Kallio – with his new team Italtrans Racing – were also in the top five.

Team Estrella Galicia 0,0 Marc VDS’s Moto2 rookie and Moto3™ World Champion Alex Marquez continued his adaptation to 600cc machinery, though he suffered a light crash on Monday.

There were also crashes without consequences for Salom, Thitipong Warokorn, Axel Pons, Ricky Cardus and Randy Krummenacher. The test will continue on Tuesday.
