The condition of the Spanish nurse who became the first person to contract
ebola outside Africa has improved, as the world scrambles to contain a
worsening outbreak.

Sixteen people have now entered quarantine at Carlos III hospital in Madrid,
where Teresa Romero Ramos, who contracted the disease after treating a
missionary evacuated from Sierra Leone, is being looked after.

Some staff at the hospital, however, have reportedly refused to treat patients
at the hospital according to the Guardian, in protest at a lack of training
and safety lapses.
