Octopus spicy sausages and squid nuggets are some of the most innovative proposals presented this week at the International Fair of Frozen Seafood Products of the Spanish Association of Fisheries and Aquaculture Product Wholesalers, Importers, Manufacturers and Exporters (CONXEMAR).

This important exhibition held every year in Vigo, Galicia, has been the setting for Cabomar to present its innovative octopus sausage.

The company is confident that this new product, which has a spicy pork-like flavour, but does not contain an ounce of fat, has a good reception in the market.

According to the production company, the sausage is made with 90 per cent of Galician octopus meat, is very healthy and has no uric acid, salt or gluten. And it is made entirely in Marin, at Cabomar facilities, the newspaper La Voz de Galicia informed.

Furthermore, Marfrío is presenting its new squid nuggets and fillets as a novelty at the fair while the company Merluguesa took advantage of Conxemar’s showcase to present its fish burgers, EFE agency reported.

Over 500 exhibitors from 40 countries participated in this edition of the international fair, considered one of the most important meetings to know the new developments of the seafood manufacturing industry and marketing firms.

The fair organizers estimate that the business figures this year could be around EUR 1,000 million.
