MotoGP Misano: Rins edges Marquez for Moto3 win
Filed Under EN
Estrella Galicia Honda’s Alex Rins just edged out team-mate Alex Marquez for the Misano MotoGP Moto3 win this morning, crossing the line with a 0.042s advantage while championship leader Jack Miller came home in a lonely third.
Rins passed Marquez on the last lap in the middle of the fast triple-right hander, in a mirror of the move that Marquez had put on Rins the lap before, and Marquez had no answer even though he got better drive out of the last corner.
Miller had a huge moment in turn three early on and didn’t recover sufficiently to bridge the large gap to the leader. He ended with a three-second disadvantage and saw his points gap reduced to nine points over Marquez with Rins a further 11 behind.
Britain’s Danny Kent, who will switch to the Kiefer Racing squad next season using works Hondas, slipped back to 12th place late on after challenging for a podium while John McPhee worked his way forward from a bad grid slot to end one place behind Kent
