Pescanova nets €7.4m from Nova Austral sale
Filed Under EN
Pescanova has netted €7.4 million ($10m) after selling salmon producer Nova Austral, part of Pesca Chile, to Norwegian fish feed producer Ewos, reports La Voz de Galicia.
Sources said the Ewos’ bid for Nova Austral is worth €134.6m, the equivalent to the value of assets, but the final sale value decreased substantially because of €128m of liabilities.
A financial source close to Pescanova told Undercurrent News the sale was closed, but he did not confirm the price of the transaction.
The following imminent sale is salmon producer Acuinova, also part of Pesca Chile, which activity was approved to continue until the end of September this year, to appraise the existing assets and then facilitate its progressive liquidation.
Creditors authorized the sale of Acuinova and Nova Austral in June. The aim at the time was to sell both firms before Sept. 30.
“The idea is to sell the companies before that date. We will make an effort to make it,” Acuinova’s bankruptcy trustee Mariclara Gonzalez said at the time.
