Upon his arrival at Santiago de Compostela airport, in the Galician regional capital, Isaac Cuenca was greeted by a throng of fans and journalists, all eager to hear the first comments from the player, following his agreement to join Deportivo La Coruña.

Asked if he’s been in contact with his former Barca colleague, Bojan Krkic, another target for Deportivo, Isaac Cuenca simply responded: “I haven’t spoken with him, but I have sent him some messages.”

Adding that his own choice to join Deport “wasn’t a difficult decision,” because they’re a team he “likes a lot,” Cuenca further explained that “they’re a great team, they’re in the Primera and can offer me games at this level.”

Cuenca also feels that he will settle into life at his new club well.

“They’re a team that plays good football, who have a lovely stadium and great fans. I think I’m going to fit in well.”
