Viñales outpaces rivals in early session

A 1’47.388 lap had Viñales leading from Marquez by 0.311s, whilst Kornfeil was 0.455 down on the session leader.
Alex Rins (Estrella Galicia 0,0) and Romano Fenati (SKY Racing Team VR46) completed the top five in Free Practice 1, both within 0.979s of Viñales.
Efren Vazquez (SAXOPRINT-RTG), Niklas Ajo (Avant Tecno Husqvarna Ajo), Brad Binder (Ambrogio Racing), Philipp Oettl (Interwetten Paddock Moto3) and Danny Kent (Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo) rounded out the top ten.
Karel Hanika (Red Bull KTM Ajo) did not complete a lap, an engine problem keeping him in the pits. His teammate Jack Miller was 12th and 1.405s back on Viñales, with his crew also working on his bike during the session.
