Burroughs had three chances to win a Pacific League girls basketball title, but Jakarra Waddell made sure the Indians took care of business in their first opportunity Friday at Arcadia.

Waddell scored off a pass from Paula Galicia with 10 seconds remaining to lift Burroughs to a 51-49 victory and an outright championship.

Waddell had nine points, seven rebounds and four steals, with Galicia contributing eight points and four assists for Burroughs (20-6, 12-0).

Sidney Ortega, who hit the winning 3-pointer Monday in overtime at Crescenta Valley, added 11 points, with Brooke Radcliff contributing 10 points and seven rebounds.

Agoura 50, Simi Valley 29 Emily Cangelosi had 14 points and Gigi Olelewe added 10 points for the Chargers (18-7, 9-3 Marmonte).

Monroe 45, Arleta 27 Allison Gallardo had 19 points and Kiana Gray added 18 points for Monroe (14-11, 9-1 East Valley).

North Hollywood 56, Verdugo Hills 41 Freshman Miya Bleeker had 24 points to lead the Huskies (4-8, 4-6 East Valley). Kaera Utsumi contributed 14 points for North Hollywood. Veronica Veruzco had 16 points and Emily Castro added 10 points for Verdugo Hills (3-12, 3-7).

El Camino Real 61, Taft 33 Lindsey Rodriguez and Lauryn Calo each had 15 points to lead the host Conquistadores to a West Valley League win.

Sasha Samuels added 13 points for El Camino Real (15-9, 7-1).

Iliana Diaz had 13 points for Taft (2-17, 0-8).

Granada Hills 47, Birmingham 41 Natalie Gutierrez had 21 points and six rebounds in a West Valley League win for the host Highlanders.

Esther Mensah added 11 points and nine rebounds for Granada Hills (17-7, 7-1).

Thousand Oaks 61, Westlake 34 Taylor Halby had 18 points in a Marmonte League win for the host Lancers.

Alexa Coubal added 15 points for Thousand Oaks (15-10, 5-7).

Ashley Jung had 15 points for Westlake (7-12, 2-10).

Burbank 49, Hoover 37 Yazzy Sadullah had 22 points and five rebounds in a win for the host Bulldogs (17-9, 9-3 Pacific)

Poly 56, Grant 26 Bella Lopez had 11 points and Isabelle Chaiddez added 10 points in a win for the visiting Parrots (16-10, 9-1 East Valley)

Kennedy 52, San Fernando 33 Jocelyn Benavides and Jackie Flores each had 13 points in a Valley Mission League win for the host Golden Cougars.

Francesca Monfort added 12 for Kennedy (15-9, 8-2).

Flintridge Prep 57, Rio Hondo Prep 50 Lacy Coan had 19 points, with Tala Ismail adding 12 points for the Rebels (15-4, 8-2 Prep).

Providence 44, Archer 24 Katia Dabbaghian had 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals, with Rachel Camonayan scoring 11 points for Providence (14-6, 5-1 Liberty), which will enter the league tournament next week as the top seed.

Harvard-Westlake 1, Flintridge Sacred Heart 0 Courtney Corrin had the lone goal off an assist from Paige Howard in a win for the host Wolverines (15-1-2, 9-0-1 Mission).

Jackie Ridgley had four saves for Harvard-Westlake.

Dani Garcia had seven saves for Flintridge Sacred Heart (9-7-2, 2-5-1).

El Camino Real 2, Taft 1 Peyton Cline had two goals and Jamie Delvick added and assist in a win for the host Conquistadores (10-6-2, 6-1-1 West Valley).

Cleveland 4, Chatsworth 1 Neaz Sedaghat had 3 goals and Denisse Macias had the other in a West Valley League win for the host Cavaliers.

Xiomara Duran, Denisse Macias, Bianca Orozco, and Jackie Villanueva had the assists for Cleveland (15-5-4, 4-1-3).

Newbury Park 1, Moorpark 0 Eva Madarang scored for the Panthers (11-4-2, 8-3-1 Marmonte).

West Ranch 3, Saugus 1 Dorna Ektefaie, Noelle Weber and Hannah Hoskins scored for the Wildcats (10-7-5, 3-4-1 Foothill).

Taylor Ayers had two assists, with Kayla Satterfield adding an assist for West Ranch.

Van Nuys 5, Panorama 1 Giselle Cruz had four goals to lead the Wolves (14-1-1, 9-0-1 Valley Mission). Elida Bryan added a goal for Van Nuys.

Verdugo Hills 5, North Hollywood 0 Makayla Nichols had two goals and a assist to lead the Dons (13-2-1, 10-0 East Valley). Beth Blackwell had two goals for Verdugo Hills. Nathalie Feil had three assists for the Dons.

Boys basketball

Grant 67, Poly 61 (OT) Daleshaun Jackson had 21 points, including six in overtime for the Lancers (12-13, 7-3 East Valley). Udy Ivazov contributed 19 points and 14 rebounds for Grant. Tony Reyes added 15 points for the Lancers. Cesar Reyes had 19 points for the Parrots (19-7, 8-2). Sal Gonzalez contributed 13 points and Jose Esquada added 12 points for Poly.

Chaminade 55, Notre Dame 35 Jack Williams had 12 points and Michael Oguine added eight points for the Eagles (19-4, 7-3 Mission).

Eliijah Ellen had seven points, with Grant Kraemer scoring six points for the Knights (8-16, 0-10).

Harvard-Westlake 64, St. Francis 57 Derick Newton, one of the top unsigned seniors in the area, scored 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Wolverines to a Mission League sweep of the Golden Knights.

Alex Copeland scored 18 points and dished out eight assists for Harvard-Westlake (11-14, 4-7).

Loyola 63, Crespi 51 Thomas Lapham scored 25 points and Max Hazzard added 22 points to lead Loyola (23-1, 9-1 Mission), which played its first game without Parker Jackson-Cartwright, who withdrew from school.

D.J. Ursery scored 21 points to lead Crespi (17-9, 5-6).

Valley Academy of Arts Sciences 52, Northridge Academy 45 Kyle Lord had 20 points and eight steals to lead the Vipers (18-3, 9-2 Valley). Sunny Singh contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds for VAAS.

Valencia 61, Canyon 60 Canyon’s Dean Hendrix-Davis missed an open 10-footer with three seconds left, as Valencia (19-6, 6-2 Foothill) came from nine points down in the second half.

Valencia’s Dakota Abbott hit a 3-pointer with just over a minute to play.

“It felt good. That was a big shot,” Abbott said.

Valencia’s Malik McCowan scored 17 points, and Angel Cardenas had 16. The Vikings defeated Canyon by 32 points in the last meeting Jan. 21.

Oak Park 39, St. Bonaventure 37 Cole Micek hit two free throw with 15 seconds to lead the Eagles (15-10, 5-4 Tri-Valley). Micek ended with 15 points. Michael Alvarez contributed 12 points and four steals for Oak Park. Matt Byer added nine rebounds for the Eagles.

Westlake 63, Thousand Oaks 60 Isaiah Brooks had 21 points to lead the Warriors (19-7, 11-1 Marmonte). Marcos Soto contributed 13 points, including two free throw with five seconds left to seal the victory for Westlake. Clarke Nelson added 11 points for the Warriors.

Granada Hills 60, Birmingham 52 Jacob Lilley had 19 points nine assists in a West Valley League win for the visiting Highlanders. Brandon Bozier added 13 points for Granada Hills (16-9, 6-2).

Serigne Athj had 28 points for Birmingham (9-15, 0-8).

Bell-Jeff 75, St. Genevieve 62 Abid Oses had 28 points to lead the Guards (15-9, 5-2 Sante Fe). Isaac Etter contributed 14 points for Bell-Jeff. Clark Thomas added 13 points for the Guards.

Calabasas 69, Royal 54 Austin Smith scored 21 points, Conner Longmire scored 15 points and Jeremy Lieberman added 14 points to lead Calabasas (20-5, 11-1 Marmonte). Sophomore Nick Brandon scored 17 points to lead Royal. Aaron Haney scored 13 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had two steals. The two steals broke the school record of 75 in a season set by Corey Hodges in 2005. Sebastian Gahito scored 12 points and Wes Tavares added 11 points for Royal.

Newbury Park 77, Moorpark 56 Tyler Cartaino scored 24 points and Spencer Netka added 16 points to lead Newbury Park (19-5, 9-3 Marmonte). Elvis Hare added 15 points for Newbury Park.

Agoura 67, Simi Valley 48 Joe Colliatie scored 26 points and had 11 rebounds in the setback. Simi Valley dropped to 10-14, 3-9.

Flintridge Prep 74, Rio Hondo Prep 52 Kyle Hamane had 18 points and eight assists, with Robert Cartwright adding 17 points, eight assists and four steals for the Rebels (11-12, 7-0 Prep), who secured their seventh consecutive league title and 12th in 13 seasons.

Quartz Hill 67, Lancaster 49 Tae Cooper, Darrian Hall and Jeffrey McClendon all scored 10 points apiece to lead the Rebels (19-6, 10-2 Golden), who took over sole possession of second place after Antelope Valley upset Eastside, 57-53.

Connor Dehaan scored 16 points to lead Lancaster.

Boys soccer

Burroughs 2, Arcadia 1 Brandon Gerlach’s goal on a diving header in the 60th minute broke a 1-1 tie for the Indians (14-3-4, 9-1-2 Pacific), who moved back into a first-place tie with Pasadena (14-1-3, 9-1-2), which suffered a 4-1 loss to Crescenta Valley (19-4-3, 8-3-1).

Ashot Veisyan also scored for Burroughs.

Oaks Christian 4, Carpinteria 3 Jamie Sullivan had two goals and a assist to lead the Lions (7-5-4, 4-3-2 Tri-Valley). Andrew Stalboerger added two goals for Oaks Christian. Reilly Phillips had an assist for the Lions.

Birmingham 3, Granada Hills 0 Eric Villatoro scored two goals and had an assist as the Patriots clinched the West Valley League title for the second time in four years.

Jonathan Turcios also scored for Birmingham (15-2-2, 8-0).

El Camino Real 3, Taft 0 Chris Attanasio, Borna Heshemi and Henrique Borges each scored a goal for the visiting Conquistadores (15-5-4, 6-2 West Valley).

Cleveland 1, Chatsworth 0 Hector Ramos scored the lone goal for the visiting Cavaliers (8-8-1, 4-3-1 West Valley).

Canoga Park 1, Sylmar 1 Ezequiel Quijada scored his 26th goal of the season in the 19th minute as the host Hunters (16-1-3, 8-0-2) clinched the Valley Mission League title – its first since moving from the Sunset Six League in 2007.

Eric Guerrero scored in the 70th minute to tie the score for Sylmar (15-5-4, 5-2-3).

San Fernando 1, Kennedy 1 Israel Ortiz scored for the visiting Tigers (6-10-2, 3-5-2 Valley Mission).

Jorge Rojas scored for Kennedy (3-6-3, 3-4-2).

Van Nuys 2, Panorama 1 David Cruz scored two goals, including the winning goal in the 79th minute, to lead the host Wolves (4-9-7, 3-3-4 Valley Mission).

Alexis Cruz and Carlos Munoz each recorded an assist for Van Nuys.

Arleta 3, Monroe 1 Hector Banuelos, Alna Gongora, and Miguel Gonzalez each scored a goal for the visiting Mustangs (9-7-1, 6-4 East Valley).

Caeser Alfaro and David Alvarez had an assist each for Van Nuys.

Jesse Iraheta scored the lone goal for Monroe (14-4-2, 8-1-1), which had its eight-match winning streak snapped.

Littlerock 2, Highland 2 Jose Hernandez scored both goals for the Lobos (7-3-4, 6-3-3 Golden), who remained just behind Knight (8-4-8, 6-2-4) in the race for the league title.

Girls water polo

Crescenta Valley 8, Redlands East Valley 6 Ashley Taylor had three goals to lead the Falcons (20-6) to a nonlegaue victory. Audrey Taylor and Lynley Fernandez each added two goals for Crescenta Valley. Natalie Krebsbach had a goal for the Falcons.

Eagle Rock 16, Los Angeles 0 Lindsey Garcia and Alena Sanchez both scored four goals for the Eagles (19-2).

Adrian Sanchez, Itzel Ruiz and Ari Sandoval all scored twice for Eagle Rock, which had eight first-quarter goals.

Jahmea Bent recorded seven saves in the shutout.
