Third man charged in Belvidere homicide

Staff Writer
A third suspect in a shooting that left a Belvidere teen dead last month has been charged with murder, the Boone County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Ricardo Garcia, 20, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the Nov. 30 shooting that killed 18-year-old Giovanni Galicia.

Augustin Galicia and Sydney Chavez were recognized by Federal Way Police Department Chief Brian Wilson for their efforts in dangerous situations this past year.
Wilson presented both with the “Police Chief Citizen Citation” at the Federal Way City Council’s Dec. 3 meeting, describing the situations that both Galicia and Chavez found themselves in this past year.

BELVIDERE (WREX) -
A 20-year-old Belvidere man faces charges of First Degree Murder for a deadly shooting that occurred November 30.
The shooting claimed the life of 18-year-old Giovanni Galicia. The Boone County State's Attorney's Office has charged Ricardo Garcia with First Degree Murder, saying his actions caused the shooting and the death of Galicia.
Anthony Perez and Ricardo Figueroa have also been charged with First Degree Murder in the case. The charge carries a sentencing range
