Spain’s R announces record-breaking year

Spanish regional cable operator R, which is present in Galicia, has closed the year with 325,800 residential and business customers, having added a record-breaking 101,350 mobile subscribers in 2013. As a result, R became the fastest growing operator in Galicia in terms of numbers ported from other operators and the fifth in all of Spain.
It has also added 34,800 new fixed-line customers over the past twelve months and invested some EUR 42 million in infrastructure development to bring its fibre optic connection at speeds of up to 200 Mbps to 910,000 households and businesses. However, in spite of the growth in its customer base, the company’s EBITDA declined 10 percent to EUR 91.5 million, above all due to lower prices.
