Wednesday, December 11, 2013
Havana, Dec 11.- The President of the Autonomous Government of Galicia, Alberto Nuñez Feijoo, asserted on Tuesday that his recent visit to Cuba accomplished his aims, mainly with the Galician emigrants, and added that it also opened “a road of relations with the Cuban government.”
The regional leader also supported the changes the Caribbean island is carrying out in its economic model, a process that will contribute to the well-being of the Cuban people over the next few years, the Cubadebate Web site reported on Tuesday.
In addition, Nuñez Feijoo commented that the “priority” objective was to support the 40,000 Galicians living in Cuba and to strengthen cultural bonds, with performances like that of the group Milladoiro, in the presence of almost 2,000 people.
During his stay in Cuba, in addition to Army General Raul Castro, President of the councils of State and Ministers, Nuñez Feijoo also met with the country’s Vice-president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, and with the ministers of Foreign Trade, Rodrigo Malmierca, and Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez.(ACN)
