Havana, Cuba, Dec 5.- Cuba and Galicia ratified on Thursday in this capital their interest in strengthening economic and commercial relations, backed by the historic bonds of friendship and familiarity between the two peoples.

On the occasion of the visit to the island of a Galician delegation headed by Alberto Nuñez Feijoo, President of the regional government of Galicia, Spain, the chambers of commerce of the two territories signed a cooperation agreement.

Signed by Odalys Seijo and Jesus Asorey, top representatives of the Cuban and Galician institutions, respectively, the agreement seek to consolidate the direct ties between these business communities and to promote the business opportunities offered by their economies.

The signing took place within the framework of a forum held at Havana’s Parque Central Hotel, where entrepreneurs of Cuba and Galicia held exchanges on investment possibilities in strategic sectors, like agriculture, fishing, renewable energy and public construction.

The stay in Cuba of the Galician dignitary includes exchanges with the community of that Spanish region living on the island, tours, and meetings with Cuban authorities and entrepreneurs in the fields of food industry, tourism and energy, with a view to increase bilateral commercial exchanges.(ACN)
