Spain: Kiwi growers seek entry to Chinese market

In this sense, Carlos Vila, manager of Kiwi Atlántico, informed that the company in partnership with other firms of Galicia’s Food Cluster, has opened a trade office in Shanghai, China, with the goal of improving sales in the area.

Meanwhile, the harvest, which normally takes place in November, is still underway in the fields of Baixo Miño. It started last week, “with very high sugar levels,” confirmed Carlos Vila, stressing also how “calibres are larger than in previous years, with better shapes and a more attractive appearance.”

Regarding production volumes, Vila assures that the harvest is not expected to be as large as in previous seasons, as the spring was very wet and trees were exposed to bacteria.
