The summer days are drifting away…but in the immortal words of John Travolta in a pair of skin-tight pants, oh, uh, those summer nights—you know, the ones where the sun goes down and the girls come out in their prettiest casual evening looks, and win all of the awards for outfits we’d love to copycat.
Take this week’s pick: “Django Unchained” actress Nichole Galicia, whose belted minidress and fab platform sandals at the See by Chloe showcase trumped all the more formal get-ups seen on the red carpet this week. Free-flowing hair, a big bangle and a white leather belt kept this look perfectly breezy, and her shoes are covet-worthy in the extreme. Sure, it’s always nice to see the girls of Hollywood in their most glamorous gowns—but effortless, low-key fashion like this is what summer Style Superstars are made of.
Also on the roster of perfect warm-weather looks: anything black silk, which makes it a no-brainer why Natalie Dormer opted for this pretty dress at the gala screening of “The Heat” this week. But as great as it looks—particularly paired up with those sleek Rupert Sanderson heels with spiky scalloped detailing—the little lace sleeves plus the longer length plus the blousy waistline add up to a frock that’s just a little too fussy to fall in love with.
