Theft
The Denville Police received a theft complaint from a local merchant on Jan. 17 in which they claimed that an employee had been taking cash from the register since October of 2012. After a brief investigation, Nicole B. Accardi, 24, of Towaco, was arrested for the thefts and charged with theft. She was released pending a future court appearance.
Underage DWI
The Denville Police conducted a traffic stop on Route 10 east for a moving violation on Jan. 25. As officers spoke with the driver, Dulce K. Galicia, 20, they could detect a strong smell of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. After a short investigation, it was determined that Galicia was under the influence of alcohol. Galicia was arrested and transported back to the police headquarters for processing. She was released a short time later with the summonses for underage driving while intoxicated, driving without a valid driver’s license, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and failure to use a turn signal, and was released with a pending court date.
DWI
Denville Police stopped Cindy Ellman, 53, of Denville, on Route 53 north on Jan. 26 after a caller reported the vehicle was driving all over the roadway. During the investigation, it was determined that Ellman was allegedly intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless and careless driving.
Possession of CDS
Denville Police stopped Justin Seekamp, 29, of Lake Hiawatha, on Franklin Road, near South Shore Road at 8:11 p.m. Jan. 26. During the motor vehicle stop, it was determined that Seekamp was in possession of controlled dangerous substance and marijuana. He was arrested, transported to police headquarters for processing. While there, police reportedly discovered that Seekamp was allegedly under the influence of controlled dangerous substance. He was given a criminal summons for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, and being under the influence. Seekamp was also issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, driving while suspended and speeding. He was released pending a future municipal court date.
A vehicle was stopped at 2:51 p.m. Jan. 25 on Route 46 east because the passenger David H. Khalev, 18, of Mountain Lakes, was not wearing his seatbelt. During the stop it was determined that Khalev was in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to wear seatbelt. After processing he was released.
