Domestic football was interrupted mid-week by a set of international games but that didn’t stop the news stories flowing. Lets take a look at what stories made the press this week around the regions.

 

 

Depor Sport

The big news from Deportivo came in Portugal. Pizzi, on loan from Atlético de Madrid, made his debut for the Portuguese National Team and scored a penalty.

Javi Camuñas has stressed that his side are not afraid of Levante and also of an aggressive and physical side. Depor have only Nelson and Salomao out for the Levante tie, this Sunday at 12 noon.

 

 

Estadio Deporte

Guess what is making all the headlines down in Sevilla, of course, the Derby.

Beñat, of Real Betis, says that all are ready for the derby. The midfielder who scored in the last one, says anyone in this side has the ability to score.

Over at Sevilla, Botia is a doubt but is likely to pass a late fitness test. They also have problems on the left of defence.

 

 

Super Deporte

Pellegrino looks set to put his faith in Cantera product Gayá for the Espanyol game. Injuries have forced his hand but there are high hopes for the youngster

Other news is that Pablo Piatti has said that he should be back to full training soon and back in the side.

 

 

Deia

Athletic Bilbao’s youngsters put in a valiant display against Arsenal in the Next Generation Series. Down to 10 men for almost an hour they held out for a scoreless draw. The game was attended by 10000 in San Mames.

Bielsa may not be too loved in Bilbao but Chile are very interested in bringing their former Coach back.

 

 

Rayo Herald

Rayo face a trip to their bogey ground, Anoeta. In eight games, Rayo have only managed to get two draws against La Real at home.

Paco Jemez will watch the next game from the stands after been handed another one game ban. He was sent of against Barca and was originally given just one game but after an investigation it was decided to hand him another one.
