(KTNV) — A Chicago-area woman who was in labor did not let it stop her from voting in the general election on Tuesday.

Galicia Malone’s water had already broken and she was experiencing contractions just five minutes apart but she insisted on stopping to vote on the way to the hospital.

It was the first time that 21-year-old Malone was able to vote in a presidential election and she was determined that nothing would stop her.

Upon learning that she was in labor, election judges moved Malone quickly through the line and sat her at a booth.

Malone voted at Precinct 88, according to the Cook County Clerk’s Office.

She later delivered a baby girl.
