Spanish regional cable operator R, present in Galicia, has revamped its combo plans. Starting 1 October, R combo package subscribers will receive discounts of up to 50 percent on their mobile services. The price reduction applies to customers using a fixed line and one or two mobile lines. Customers using R’s fixed-line services and a 6 mini combo, including voice line (with calls to fixed-line numbers, 300 minutes for calls to on-net mobile lines, and 100 minutes for calls to national mobile numbers), internet connection and pay-TV service, as well as mobile service (400 minutes for voice calls and 1GB for mobile data traffic) will now be charged a monthly fee of EUR 44.9 (VAT not included).

Additionally, mini+internet combo subscribers will be charged 2 eurocents per minute for mobile voice calls, down from the current price of 4 eurocents per minute. Subscribers will also receive 500 MB for internet traffic for EUR 7. Customers who also acquire a subsidized handset will pay EUR 9. Customers who only need voice calls with no internet connection will be charged 5 eurocents per minute for mobile calls, down from 8 eurocents.

R has also increased the number of minutes, SMS or MB included in its flat-rate tariff plans. Thus the flat-rate voice plan that previously included 150 minutes for voice calls will now offer 200 voice call minutes. R’s ‘24h 350 minutos’ tariff plan, which previously included 350 minutes for voice calls, has been upgraded to include 400 voice call minutes, 1 GB for mobile data traffic (up from the current 500 MB), as well as 200 SMS instead of 100.

Starting 1 October, customers will be able to subscribe to a new mobilR tariff plan, dubbed ‘24h 600min’. The service includes 600 minutes for anytime voice calls to national fixed and mobile numbers, 1GB for mobile data traffic, and 300 SMS for EUR 20 per month.

R reports it has added over 60,000 new mobile lines since January 2012.
