Starting this Friday, the Marine Technology Centre- Cetmar Foundation is organizing a meeting of experts in active packaging, who will analyze their utility in the preservation and enhancement of fish products.
The seminar will be opened by the director-manager of the Galician institution, Paloma Rueda Crespo.
During the seminar the results of Envacfish Project, an initiative funded by Xunta de Galicia through the RD Galician Plan, will be presented.
The Marine Technology Centre together with three Galician universities: of Vigo, A Coruña and of Santiago, will participate in this project.
The results of the document will be released during the seminar that will be held on Cetmar premises in Vigo.
In recent years, active packaging or binary systems arose as an alternative emerging technology development to enable improved packaged products. Its main objective is to preserve the organoleptic, nutritional and health features of packaged fishery resources.
The seminar will be attended by representatives of the government, of the private business sector and of the university field, according to the Government of Galicia.
The attendees will discuss two systems to include additives in the package — inclusion and impregnation –, and the constraints and limitations that exist for these developments from a legal standpoint.
