Round 96 was completed on Thursday morning. The highest surf heat score of Round 96 was earned by Messias Felix (BRA) during his Heat 6 matchup against Roland Lefeuvre (FRA), Saxon Lumsden (AUS) and Borja Agote (EUK). I really enjoyed watching him surf again. He consistently displayed a lot of skill and speed. His best waves were a 6.90 point ride and an 8.50 point ride. He won the surf heat with 15.40 points. Messias Felix is expected to surf again in Round 64, Heat 6.

Heat 5 featured surfers Vincent Duvignac (FRA), Bino Lopes (BRA), Borja Agote (EUK) and Vicente Romero (ESP). If you ask me, Vincent Duvignac looked great. He opened up the surf heat with a 4.83 point ride and backed it up with a 7.50 point ride. It gave him an early lead. Then, with less than 10 minutes to go in the heat, Bino Lopes caught a pristine wave. He used it to fire off five beautiful turns. He also hit the lip hard and sent spray flying. It earned him 8.33 points and the lead. He backed it up with a sweet aerial. In the end, Bino Lopes won the surf heat with 14.16 points.
