BEDFORD, MA — (Marketwire) — 07/17/12 — Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session delivery networks, today announced that Campus do Mar, a research project led by the University of Vigo in Galicia, Spain, is deploying Acme Packet’s Net-Net® Enterprise Session Director-Server Edition enterprise session border controller (E-SBC) to enable secure, Internet-based collaboration for remote team members.

News Highlights:

• University of Vigo chose the recently announced Net-Net Enterprise Session Director-Server Edition — a software-based E-SBC, which runs on industry-standard x86 Linux servers — to contain capital and operational costs, and integrate seamlessly with the university’s existing IT infrastructure.

• The Net-Net Enterprise Session Director-Server Edition enables secure, reliable, and cost-effective IP communications, improving collaboration for remote researchers and educators.

• The solution protects the university’s IT infrastructure and mitigates Network Address Translation (NAT) and firewall traversal issues that often hinder Internet telephony initiatives and burden support organizations.

• The university deployed the solution upon the recommendation of Quobis, a leading unified communications systems integrator that carried out the installation and setup of the solution.
