Day shift

Matthew Eaker, 23, of the 100 bock of Galicia, Tularosa, was arrested on a New Mexico Department of Corrections order for an alleged probation violation. He was incarcerated at the Otero County Detention Center pending his appearance in court.

An auto burglary was reported by a resident of the 2400 block of Wyatt Way. Sometime between 10 p.m. June 7 and 5 p.m. June 8, someone entered her unsecured 2012 Mitsubishi while it was parked in the driveway and removed a large black wallet containing personal information along with several credit cards. Investigation continues.

Night shift

Areli Cadena, 22, of the 1400 block of Indiana Avenue, subsequent to a domestic disturbance call in the block, was arrested for alleged battery on a household member. Investigation revealed Cadena allegedly battered her boyfriend during a domestic dispute. She was incarcerated at OCDC in lieu of bond.

Shoplifting was reported at Lowe’s Pay and Save, 675 E. 10th St. Sometime between 9:22 p.m. and 9:25 p.m., a woman entered the business and took three bottles of liquor. She was described as Caucasian, 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet tall, 175-200 pounds and wearing a black baseball cap, black T-shirt with a marijuana leaf on the front and black pants. Investigation continues.

Saturday, June 9

Day shift

At approximately 10:54 a.m. ADPS and American Medical Response responded to First Street and White Sands Boulevard on the report of a hit-and-run crash

with injuries. Moments alter another hit-and-run crash was reported in the 600 block of Alaska. After investigation the suspect vehicle was located and as a result of the investigation, Ricardo Chavez, 58, of the 900 block of Seventh Street, was arrested for alleged aggravated driving while intoxicated, first offense; two counts of immediate notice of an accident, duty upon striking an unattended vehicle; two counts of display of current valid registration; and two counts of no insurance. He was taken to Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center for a blood draw due to his intoxication level, then incarcerated at OCDC pending his appearance in Municipal Court.

At approximately 1:48 p.m., ADPS and AMR responded to the 1300 block of Michigan Avenue on the report of an unresponsive female. Officers located a 58-year-old woman with no signs of life. Preliminary investigation indicates the cause of death to be natural. Detectives were notified and the Office of the Medical Investigator responded to the scene.

Night shift

Criminal damage was reported by a resident of the 1000 block of Lackland. The resident reported that sometime around 6 p.m. a male subject threw a rock through the rear window of his 1995 Mercury Sable while it was parked at his residence. Subsequent to the investigation, David Sandridge, 19, of the 2700 block of Stapp, was issued a Magistrate Court non-traffic citation for alleged criminal damage to property. Sandridge is to appear in Magistrate Court as ordered.

Commercial burglary was reported by a business on the 400 block of Canal. Sometime between 5 p.m. June 8 and 7 a.m. June 9, someone entered the office area by breaking out an exterior window and removed approximately $20 in change from a cash drawer.

Charles Guynn, 50, of the 2200 block of Walker, was issued Municipal Court non-traffic citations for alleged trespassing, larceny and contributing to the delinquency of a minor following an investigation where Guynn was found to have allegedly taken a dog from a residence in the 700 block of Wright Avenue without permission. He is to appear in Municipal Court as ordered.

Donnie Sawyer III, 34, of the 1600 block of Aspen Drive, subsequent to a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue, was arrested for alleged first offense DUI, aggravated due to refusal. He was incarcerated at OCDC in lieu of bond.

Crystal Lemanski, 47, of the 200 block of U.S. Highway 82, subsequent to a disturbance call at the Palm Side, was arrested for alleged DUI, second or subsequent, blood pending; reckless driving; driving while license suspended or revoked; duty upon striking unattended vehicles; immediate notice of accidents; duty to stop and render aid; and great bodily harm by a motor vehicle, five counts. Investigation revealed Lemanski allegedly drove recklessly through the parking lot at Palm Side, ultimately striking four vehicles and five pedestrians with her vehicle. She was incarcerated at OCDC in lieu of bond.

Alex Rittig, 28, of the 1700 block of East First Street, was issued a Municipal Court non-traffic citation for alleged criminal damage to property following an investigation where he was allegedly found to have damaged several night lights at the Alamo Apartments. He is to appear in Municipal Court as ordered.

Sunday, June 10

Day shift

Christopher Sullivan, 23, of the 1300 block of Filmore, was issued a non-traffic citation for alleged unlawful possession of marijuana. He was cited to appear in Municipal Court.

Brandon Berry, 23, of the 1300 block of Filmore, was issued a non-traffic citation for alleged unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was cited to appear in Municipal Court.

Gabriel Vasquez, 21, claims homeless, was arrested for alleged breaking and entering after he allegedly broke out a window on his boyfriend’s residence and reached in and unlocked the window in an attempt to gain entry to the residence. After he was arrested, Vasquez was additionally charged with resisting or obstructing an officer due to his not letting officers take his fingerprints. He was incarcerated at OCDC pending his appearance in court.

Danielle McKee, 21, of the 1900 block of Washington Avenue, was arrested on a New Mexico Department of Corrections order for an alleged probation violation. She was incarcerated at OCDC pending her appearance in court.

Night shift

Heather Mote, 35, of the 2700 block of North Florida Avenue, was arrested for an alleged temporary restraining order violation following an investigation where she was allegedly found to have sent text messages to the petitioner in an active TRO. She was incarcerated at OCDC in lieu of bond.

Bobby Malett, 41, of the 10 block of Del Phia, subsequent to a traffic stop in the 2200 block of U.S. Highway 54 South, was arrested for alleged aggravated DUI, second or subsequent. He was also cited for swerving. He was incarcerated at OCDC in lieu of bond.
