The following companies are having
unusual price changes in Argentine trading. Stock symbols are in
parentheses, and share prices are as of 2:12 p.m. in Buenos
Aires. The Merval (MERVAL) index advanced 0.8 percent to 2,138.44.
Grupo Financiero Galicia SA (GGAL) rose 1.1 percent to
2.80 pesos, ending a seven-day losing streak. Argentine stocks
are “rebounding after four very nasty days,” Adrian Mayoral,
an analyst and trader at Buenos Aires-based brokerage Mayoral
Bursatil, said in a phone interview today. “There are
expectations that the recovery may continue next week as well.”
The Merval dropped 7.9 percent during the first four days of
this week.
Tenaris SA (TEN) fell for a third day, dropping 0.5
percent to 97.50 pesos. The world’s largest producer of seamless
steel tubes used in the oil industry dropped in line with the
price of crude.
