A Summit County man is being charged with three counts of distribution of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, after selling cocaine to an undercover officer three times, according to Matt Bates of the Summit County Attorney’s Office.

Fermin Alonso Galicia, 46, sold cocaine to an officer on March 9, March 13, and April 4, according to court documents. He was arrested by the Summit County Sheriff’s office on April 4 and booked in the Summit County Jail.

“He sold a total of eight grams to the undercover officer in the Park City area,” Bates said. “The BackNet Narcotics Task Force runs operations like this fairly often.”

Bates did not know Galicia’s criminal history or if he was from Summit County. The Sheriff’s office also declined to talk about the case since it is about to go to trial.

Galicia did not post bail, which was set at $10,000. His first court hearing will be on April 16. A second-degree felony is punishable with up to 15 years in jail and a fine up to $10,000.
